The Miniature American Shepherd was developed in the American West in the late 1960's. This is a small herding dog has extensive versatility.
They make great traveling companions, agility, disc, herding,
barn hunt, farm dogs, and show dogs.
The Miniature Australian Shepherd is now known as the
Miniature American Shepherd when registered with the AKC and UKC.
Females can be up to & including 17" tall and the males up to
& including 18" tall. They may weigh 20 to 40 pounds as adults.
They come in a variety of colors: Blue Merle, Red Merle, Red, & Black.
Whether working stock, navigating an agility course, visiting a nursing
home, or hanging out on the family couch, this intensely curious
and intelligent dog does it all with due diligence and a sense of humor.
